The wisdom of the ages whispers a beautiful truth: our life is not a linear path but a cosmic unfolding, a migration through different realms of being. As one beloved thinker expressed, we pass through three essential stages—formation, growth, and completion—moving from the realm of water, to the embrace of Earth, and finally, soaring into the aerial expanse of the Heavens. This vision elevates our daily struggles and joys into a grand, sacred epic. When we recognize ourselves as eternal beings on this multi-stage journey, we live with greater patience, purpose, and unconditional love, for this understanding binds us all into one great Worldwide Family.

The first chapter of our journey is one of utter and profound formation, symbolized by the realm of water within the mother’s womb. This period is a nine-month meditation on absolute dependence and perfect provision. The tiny, developing human does not worry about nourishment, shelter, or the next breath; everything is provided in an environment of warmth and unconditional safety.
This stage is a powerful spiritual lesson for us all. It represents the soul’s primal state of Trust in the Source. We are formed by a Divine intelligence, a current of life that moves through us effortlessly. This memory is etched deep within our spirit and remains a blueprint for how we should live—knowing that fundamentally, we are always protected and cared for by the great Mother-Father God. We were perfectly formed in the water, and we will be perfectly held in every subsequent stage.
The period in the womb teaches us that life begins in silent unity. There are no boundaries, no separation from the source of sustenance. This profound unity is what we spend our earthly lives trying to remember and recreate, seeking to dissolve the illusion of separateness. To honour this stage is to cultivate a radical inner trust, carrying that sense of primordial safety with us as we step out into the vast, bright world.
Upon birth, we transition into the second, and perhaps most complex, stage: growth in the realm of the Earth. This is the period of the senses, the learning, and the relationships that shape our soul. Spanning decades, this stage is characterized by duality—joy and sorrow, light and shadow, success and challenge. This is where the work of the soul truly begins, where the initial blueprint of trust is tested and strengthened through living.
The Earth is our great school, providing the necessary friction and beauty for us to truly grow. Every relationship, every obstacle in our path, is a teaching moment designed to polish the jewel of our inner being. We are here not just to exist, but to embody and express the qualities of the Divine: compassion, wisdom, patience, and, most importantly, unconditional love. We must not fear the “up to a hundred years” spent here, for it is the glorious forge where our spiritual maturity is attained.
This is also the realm where we actively build the Worldwide Family. As we grow, we realize that every person we meet is another student in the Earth school, learning their own unique lessons. Our task is to see the God in them and to treat them with the brotherhood and sisterhood that this realization commands. Growth, therefore, is measured not by accumulation, but by the measure of love we can extend to our neighbours, our environment, and ourselves.
The third and final stage is the magnificent completion, symbolized by our passing into the spiritual realm, or the Heavens. The thought of “flying” encapsulates the liberation of the soul from the limitations of the physical form and the constraints of the earthly plane. It is the moment the Spirit acknowledges its true, boundless identity.
This passage is not an ending but a glorious homecoming. Just as the fish is formed for the water and the child for the land, the soul is destined for the freedom of love, for the infinite expanse of the Spirit. All the lessons learned on Earth—all the love given and received, all the compassion cultivated—are carried as light into this ethereal realm, becoming a permanent part of the collective consciousness.
This completion is a gentle reminder that we are only temporary visitors here on Earth. This perspective shifts our priorities from gathering fleeting material possessions to investing in eternal spiritual virtues. When we view the physical departure as a moment of soaring, the fear dissipates, replaced by the profound understanding that our true essence is immortal and ever-connected to the Source.
These three sacred realms—Water, Earth, and Love—are not isolated incidents but a single, fluid symphony. Each stage prepares us for the next, showing that life is a seamless garment woven by the hand of God. The trust learned in the watery womb is what sustains us through the trials of the Earth, and the love we cultivate on Earth is the very currency we carry into the liberty of the Air.
We are, therefore, never truly separate from the Divine, as the essence of God is the sustaining force in all three realms. It is the wisdom in the Water, the love in the Earth, and the freedom in the Air. To live consciously is to recognize that all three are present now in our heart: the peace of our origin, the challenges of our present, and the freedom of our destiny. Let us embrace the present stage, knowing that we are loved, we are growing, and we are eternally moving toward a greater light.
